SMS Terms

These SMS Terms govern text messages sent by Downland, Inc. (“Downland,” “we,” “us”). They are incorporated into our Terms of Service.

1. Program Description

When you provide your mobile number and opt in, Downland sends text messages that help you make progress on your planning journey, including task reminders, prompts to pick up where you left off, account and billing notifications, and, if you separately consent, marketing messages about Downland products and services. We also send verification codes and security-related messages when you request them or when needed to protect your account, such as when verifying your phone number or signing in.

2. Consent

By opting in, you consent to receive recurring automated text messages from Downland at the mobile number you provided. Consent to receive marketing text messages is not a condition of any purchase. Message frequency varies based on your activity and plan progress.

If another Downland user provides your number to invite you to participate in their planning process, our first message will identify Downland and the person who invited you and ask whether you want to participate. We will not send further messages unless you reply to opt in, and you can decline or stop messages at any time by replying STOP. Participants who join by text do not receive marketing messages unless they separately opt in.

3. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Charges are billed by and payable to your mobile carrier. Downland is not responsible for carrier charges.

4. Opting Out

Reply STOP to any Downland text message to cancel. After you send STOP, we will send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. You will receive no further messages unless you opt back in. You may also opt out by emailing howdy@godownland.com from the email address on your account.

5. Help

Reply HELP to any Downland text message for assistance, or contact howdy@godownland.com.

6. Number Changes

You agree to notify us promptly if you change or deactivate your mobile number, so that messages intended for you are not sent to a reassigned number.

7. Privacy

Our collection and use of your information is described in our Privacy Policy. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are never shared with or sold to third parties for their marketing purposes. Mobile information is shared with our SMS delivery vendors solely to send the messages described in these SMS Terms.

8. Carriers

Supported carriers include major U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery of messages is subject to effective transmission by your carrier and is not guaranteed.

9. Changes and Termination

We may modify or terminate the SMS program at any time. Material changes to these SMS Terms will be posted on this page with an updated date.
